How easy is it to create a sustainably designed home?
A lot easier than you may think!
The main thing is to read the labels and see where everything comes from. From paint and carpets, all the way through to furniture, you want to make sure that everything you buy is as eco-friendly as possible. For example, choosing non-toxic paint and organic fabrics.
Every product from the Nkuku range is sustainably made. This means you can put them in pride of place in your home with complete confidence.
Why should I buy a Nkuku product?
The three words that Nkuku uses to describe its values are ‘ethical’, ‘eco-friendly’ and ‘handmade’.
The brand works with independent businesses worldwide, trading fairly, ensuring safe working conditions and helping these businesses build a future.
All products are made by hand using sustainable materials including hemp, jute, brass, mango wood and recycled glass and paper. As they are made using artisan production methods, you’ll be guaranteed a one-of-a-kind item that nobody else will own.
All this results in beautiful, hard-wearing products that look good, and do good too.
What rooms can I use Nkuku products in?
Anywhere you like! The Nkuku collection will look stunning in any room of your home.
From mugs and spoons for the kitchen, napkin rings and mirrors for the dining room and desk lamps and photo frames for your bedroom, you’ll truly be spoilt for choice.
Nkuku also creates jewellery that will look absolutely striking on your bedroom dresser!
Nkuku’s dedication to sustainability
The way we buy has changed over the last few years. Rather than focusing on fast fashion for the home, we are choosing long-lasting homewares that have a story to tell.
Nkuku is a Fair Trade company, auditing suppliers to ensure complete transparency and dedication to eco-friendly practices. In addition, Nkuku aims to create long-term business relationships across the world.
Products are created using traditional handmade production methods including metal sculpting, weaving, pottery making and carpentry.
The company works with natural materials, focusing on producing high-quality products that will last for years to come. All materials used can be recycled in the future.
Products are shipped by sea freight to reduce carbon footprint, and packaging is as sustainable as possible.
Nkuku is dedicated to improving its processes and challenging itself to become more environmentally friendly over time.
Nkuku and charity partnerships
Whether at home in the UK or other countries, Nkuku is committed to helping others.
The company supports FRANK Water, a charity that improves the living standards of small communities that are too remote for larger charities to access. FRANK Water works with areas in India and Nepal, providing them with safe drinking water systems.
Nkuku also supports ‘Til the Coast is Clear, a charity based in its native Devon. Til the Coast is Clear helps clear plastic pollution from the shorelines, protecting the fragile marine ecosystem and helping regenerate communities.

Our Anara round baubles are crafted using recycled hand blown glass, a traditional method of glassmaking that has been used by artisans for centuries. The glass is washed to remove any impurities before being melted down and blown to create beautiful organic shapes. The delicate clear glass is decorated with a striking frosted design that is entirely hand-etched. We love these baubles because they are both stylish and sustainable - and they look even more magical when they reflect the light. Their size means they look striking when suspended from your ceiling or strung together as a festive garland over your mantlepiece. Try styling groups of different sizes and shapes for an eye-catching display. They're available in two sizes - small and large - and have a luxurious cotton velvet tie.
